The park is divided into three zones, including the core zone, reserved zone, and cultural zone. The cultural zone is filled with small villages of locals that are very open to international tourists. However, if you do decide to frequent these areas, you may want to hire a tour guide.

 

The National Park is absolutely stunning and home to many different types of wildlife. Do not be surprised if you see a jaguar standing high upon a mountain, scouring the land below. There are also various forms of monkeys, including the black spider, red howler, squirrel, and capuchin. Never approach these animals, because they are considered dangers.

 

When visiting the park, be sure to dress comfortably. The weather is normally humid and hot, so light attire and tennis shoes will be your best option. Before entering the park, you will need to get a permit. The government office responsible for issuing permits is INRENA.
